...obon has always had a special place in my heart.

(Cultural reasons aside, I have always appreciated one dance in particular. It's called Fukushima Ondo, which they play as a 15 minute set with vocals and instrumentals. At the end of the night, they play it again... but steadily increase the tempo until everyone is almost sprinting around the yagura.)

this weekend is a regional festival and I thought it wouldn't be that big but yesterday the Air Force started doing plane acrobatics to begin the festival and I realised that at this point I should just assume that every event hosted in Sendai would go hard. they will never let go of an opportunity to show off, even if it's just to the rest of Tohoku
